Gokul Kannan Thiruvenkadam

I am a second-year PhD student in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Johns Hopkins University. I am a memeber of the VIU Lab advised by Dr.Vishal Patel. Before joining Hopkins, during my undergraduate I interned at The Chinese University of Hong Kong and IIIT-Delhi .

My research focuses on advancing robotic learning by developing foundational models that enable robots to acquire human-like physical intelligence. Specifically, I aim to make progress in Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models, Sim2Real transfer, and World Models, bridging perception, reasoning, and action to create robots that can learn and adapt effectively in the real world.
